Über den Spieler
Im Juli 2021 unterschrieb Rocco Ascone seinen ersten Profivertrag bei Lille OSC. Für die erste Mannschaft der Nordfranzosen kam er trotz Registrierung in den folgenden zwei Spielzeiten jedoch kein einziges Mal zum Einsatz – er lief stattdessen für die Reserve in der National 3 sowie für die U19 in der UEFA Youth League auf.
Den Sprung ins Profigeschäft brachte erst die Leihe: Im Januar 2022 wechselte Ascone leihweise zu Nordsjælland in die dänische Superliga und gab dort sein Debüt im Herrenfußball. Über die Leihzeit kam er auf 18 Ligaspiele und zwölf Pokalpartien. Im Juli 2023 zog der dänische Klub die Kaufoption, Ascone blieb bis August 2025 bei Nordsjælland.
Anschließend führte ihn eine weitere Leihe zu Halmstads BK für den Rest der Saison 2025. Der schwedische Klub zeigte sich überzeugt und zog am 27. Dezember 2025 seinerseits die Kaufoption, Ascone unterschrieb bis 2029.
International steht der Linksfuß bislang nur im französischen Nachwuchs zu Buche: 2019 zwei Einsätze für die U16 in Freundschaftsspielen gegen Estland, 2022 zwei weitere für die U20 gegen Saudi-Arabien und Japan. Für große Nachwuchsturniere wurde er bisher nicht berücksichtigt.
