Wer in Tabriz nach diesem Stadion sucht, muss genau hinschauen: Es gibt zwei Arenen in Iran, die den Namen des 2020 getöteten Generals Qasem Soleimani tragen — eine in Sirjan, Heimstätte von Gol Gohar, und diese hier im Westen von Tabriz. Erst am 5. Januar 2020, wenige Tage nach Soleimanis Tod, wurde die Anlage umbenannt.

Eröffnet wurde sie 2011. Die Mieter wechselten seither: Zwischen 2017 und 2021 trug Machine Sazi hier seine Heimspiele aus, ehe der Stadtrivale Tractor S.C. übernahm. Auf dem Naturrasen spielte im September 2015, noch unter dem Namen Bonyan Diesel, auch die iranische U-16-Nationalmannschaft zwei Qualifikationspartien für die Asienmeisterschaft — gegen Indien gewann man 3:0, gegen Bahrain 6:0.
