Soyu Stadium

The Soyu Stadium sits in the Akita Yabase Sports Park, a site that has hosted sport since September 1941. It opened as a public works project during wartime conditions, and the original construction contractor is not identified in available sources. The ground has lived through several transformations: a complete rebuild in 1981, track repairs in 1985, and later adaptations to meet J.League entry requirements in 1995 and World Games standards in 2001. The most recent major renovation occurred in 2019 to comply with J2 League licensing standards for Blaublitz Akita.

What stands out is the scale of the 2019 project. Four Panasonic LED light towers, each 40.75 meters tall, were installed alongside a 650-inch Panasonic scoreboard. These specific items alone cost 930 million JPY. The stadium was officially renamed Soyu Stadium on April 1, 2019, after Soyu Corporation acquired the naming rights for 3.5 million JPY per year. The playing surface is natural grass, specifically cool-season overseas varieties for the infield.

Blaublitz Akita has played home matches here since 2010, having temporarily relocated between 2014 and 2018. The club won the J3 League titles in 2017 and 2020 at this venue. Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo has also occasionally used the stadium for early-season J1 matches to avoid snow. The stadium record attendance of 27,090 remains a fixture from a nationwide athletics meet in the 1990s.
