Das Thamir Stadion steht an der Hamad Al-Mubarak Street in Al Salmiya.

Es ist der Spielort des Al-Salmiya Club.

Die Eröffnung fand am 28. Dezember 2004 statt. Seither ist der Name unverändert geblieben. Benannt ist es nach Thamer Ali Al-Sabah, einem Mitglied der herrschenden Familie.

Der Rasen ist natürlich. Um das Spielfeld verläuft eine Leichtathletikbahn.

Auf der Tribüne finden 16105 Zuschauer Platz. Die Kapazität hat sich seit der Inbetriebnahme nicht verändert.

Auch die Kuwaitische Nationalmannschaft nutzt die Arena für Freundschaftsspiele. Gegner wie Portugal oder Lebanon kamen hier vorbei.

Größere Turniere oder Endspiele finden hier nicht statt.
