Über den Spieler
Seine Karriere begann im unteren englischen Fußballbereich bei Stalybridge Celtic , wo er seine ersten Schritte im Profifußball unternahm. Die folgenden Stationen bei Harrogate Town und Walsall waren wichtige Etappen.
Ein wichtiger Wendepunkt war die Zeit bei Portsmouth , wo er mehrere Jahre aktiv war. Im Jahr 2023 folgte ein weiterer Schritt, diesmal zu Burton Albion .
Im Juli 2023 schloss er sich Milton Keynes Dons an. Kurz darauf ging er im Januar 2024 für ein halbes Jahr auf Leihbasis zu Stevenage . Seine Größe von 188 Zentimetern und seine Spielweise mit dem rechten Fuß machen ihn zu einer gewohnten Erscheinung im Tor.
Auf internationaler Ebene gab es eine besondere Erinnerung. Im August 2019 wurde er in den Kader der schottischen Nationalmannschaft berufen. Als unverschriebener Spieler ersetzte er Scott Bain. Der Name McGillivray ist schottischen Ursprungs, was diesen Zusammenhang unterstreicht.
Sein Weg war geprägt von ständigen Anpassungen.
