Die Víceúčelová sportovní hala in Frýdek-Místek ist aus der Stadtgeschichte nicht mehr wegzudenken. Der Bau steht nicht im Zentrum von Frýdek-Místek, sondern im Stadtteil Frýdek, direkt an der Ostravice.

Im Inneren bot es Platz für bis zu 6500 Zuschauer, eine Zahl, die für die Region beachtlich war. Die Halle war ein echtes Multitalent: Mal war Eis drauf, mal Holzparkett. So gastierten hier Eishockeyteams wie HC Frýdek-Místek, aber auch Handballvereine nutzten die Fläche.

Bedeutend war der Ort für den Sport im Land. 1994 trafen hier die besten U20-Nationalmannschaften der Welt aufeinander bei der IIHF-Weltmeisterschaft. Zwei Jahre später feierte die Tschechische Extraliga hier ihr erstes All-Star-Game. Auch Konzerte fanden statt; Bands wie Tata Bojs oder Olympic spielten vor vollem Haus. Doch die Jahre vergingen, und die Halle verfiel. Am Ende stand der Abriss. Heute steht dort ein neues Einkaufszentrum, die Frýda.
