Über den Spieler
Bei Celtic hat es Kerr McInroy nie in die erste Mannschaft geschafft, obwohl er dem Klub von 2012 bis 2020 angehörte. Stattdessen sammelte er sein Rüstzeug auf Leihbasis: bei Dunfermline Athletic, bei Airdrieonians, wo ihm in der Scottish League One vier Tore in elf Ligaspielen gelangen, und schließlich bei Ayr United. 2022 wurde er von Celtic als freier Spieler entlassen und schloss sich Kilmarnock an.
Den größten Ausschlag gab die Leihe zu Partick Thistle in der Saison 2023/24: 39 Pflichtspiele, davon 32 in der Scottish Championship, und fünf Treffer. Nach Ablauf seines Vertrags verließ er Kilmarnock im Mai 2024, ehe ihn Shelbourne im Januar 2025 verpflichtete.
2025 kam er in 34 Partien über alle Wettbewerbe zum Einsatz und erzielte vier Tore, was ihm die Auszeichnung als Shelbourne FC Player of the Year einbrachte. Shelbourne war als Titelverteidiger der League of Ireland Premier Division in die Saison gegangen, wurde am Ende jedoch Dritter.
Für Schottland durchlief er mehrere Jugendauswahlen: acht Länderspiele für die U17, sechzehn Einsätze und ein Tor für die U19 sowie eine Berufung in die U21. Auf Ligaebene trägt er bei Shelbourne die Rückennummer 23.
