Über den Spieler
Zechiël stammt aus Rotterdam und durchlief die Jugendabteilungen von Swift Boys und XerxesDZB, ehe er 2012 in die Akademie von Sparta Rotterdam wechselte. 2018 folgte der Sprung zu Feyenoord, wo er im April 2022 seinen ersten Profivertrag unterschrieb. Sein Debüt in der ersten Mannschaft gab er am 27. August 2023 als Einwechselspieler beim 6:1-Sieg der Eredivisie ausgerechnet gegen Sparta Rotterdam. Bis zu seiner ersten Leihe kam er auf 17 Pflichtspiele für Feyenoord und erzielte dabei ein Tor.
Es folgten zwei Leihstationen bei Sparta Rotterdam: In der Saison 2023/24 bestritt er 13 Eredivisie-Partien und traf zweimal, im Februar 2025 kehrte er für den Rest der Saison erneut auf Leihbasis zurück. Mit Feyenoord gewann er 2024 den Johan Cruyff Shield sowie in der Saison 2023/24 den KNVB Cup. Im Juni 2025 wechselte er auf Leihbasis für eine Saison, ohne Kaufoption, zu Utrecht.
Seine Entwicklung wurde auch individuell gewürdigt: Im Oktober 2025 und im Mai 2026 wurde er zum Eredivisie Johan Cruyff Talent des Monats gekürt. International lief Zechiël bislang zehnmal für die niederländische U21 auf und erzielte dabei vier Tore.
