Über den Spieler
Yaimar Medina durchlief die Jugendabteilung von Independiente del Valle und gab am 30. Juli 2022 sein Debüt in der ersten Mannschaft des ecuadorianischen Klubs. Für Independiente del Valle bestritt Medina insgesamt 48 Ligaspiele und erzielte sechs Tore.
Am 9. Januar 2025 wechselte er zu KRC Genk und unterschrieb dort einen Vertrag bis zum 30. Juni 2029.
Auch international ging es für Medina schnell voran: Am 6. September 2024 gab er sein Debüt für die ecuadorianische Nationalmannschaft, in einem WM-Qualifikationsspiel gegen Brasilien. Seitdem kam er zu sieben Länderspieleinsätzen, ohne dabei bislang selbst zu treffen.
