IJVV De Zwervers won it 1–3, and only after extra time. That same year Berkum took the Fourth Class title, a year after winning the First Class in the Zwolle district.
The side had been formed fifteen years earlier, in May 1961, by and for the residents of Berkum, then a village and now a district. The motto printed around the club is Zwart Wit Warm Hart .
Sportpark De Vegtlust on Boerendanserdijk has been home since 1975, the year the run to the final began. Of its 3,000 places, 350 are under cover.
The strongest stretch came much later. Berkum spent eight seasons in the Hoofdklasse, the top amateur tier, from 2006 until 2014, and won the Second Class in 1992 and again in 2018. The men now play in the Vierde Divisie.
Zwolle has PEC Zwolle in the professional game, and ZAC and CSV'28 among the amateurs. Berkum has no derby of its own.
