About us
Sportpul is a sports reference: match results, league tables, fixtures, squads, pages for players and venues, plus news and analytical forecasts. We cover seven sports: football, basketball, ice hockey, volleyball, handball, cricket and rugby.
How materials are made

- 3 Algorithms An algorithm gathers facts from the data and prepares a draft.
- 4 Check Editors verify the numbers against sources and take responsibility.
- 5 Publication The material is published with sources and a record of edits.
Where the data comes from
Scores, fixtures, line-ups and tables come from a sports data provider and are updated automatically — hundreds of thousands of records a day. Reference facts about clubs, players and venues are collected separately and checked against public sources; the material names them underneath.
When the provider sends nothing, we do not invent. An empty field means "no data", not "zero": a dash is more honest than a made-up number.
How the texts are made
News, match reports and profiles are produced by the newsroom with the help of text-processing algorithms. The algorithm collects facts from data and sources; the newsroom is responsible for what is published. A piece is not published if it adds nothing to the original source.
Every text rests on the links listed underneath and on structured match data. Numbers in the text come from the same database as the tables on the site, so they cannot disagree.
Forecasts
A match forecast is a statistical model's estimate of an outcome, not betting advice. We publish accuracy openly: how many forecasts were checked, how many were correct, and how accuracy is spread across the model's confidence levels. A forecast is fixed before kick-off and never changed afterwards.
What we do not do
- we do not take bets and are not tied to bookmakers;
- we do not publish rumours without a source;
- we do not replace missing data with zeros;
- we do not use third-party photos without a licence and credit.
