The Prudential Center sits at 25 Lafayette Street in Newark, New Jersey. It opened on October 25, 2007, and has since become the anchor for professional hockey and basketball in the region.

The arena is best known as the home of the New Jersey Devils, who moved in from New York City when the NHL team relocated. Before that, the Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA) played there for two seasons before moving to Brooklyn. The venue is not limited to one sport; it swaps between a hardwood floor and an ice rink depending on the calendar.

Outside of sports, the center has carved out a niche as a major K-pop hub. One such event drew over 120,000 fans for an Enrique Iglesias concert in September 2011. It has also hosted the MTV Video Music Awards and numerous UFC pay-per-view events, cementing its role as a multipurpose destination. The facility was designed by architects HOK Sport and Morris Adjmi, with Gilbane Construction handling the build, which started in 2005. It is owned by the City of Newark and managed by ICON Venue Group.
