Košice beat Radviliškis 5-0 in the Round of 128 of the Cup on 19 August 2026. The visitors made no mistake against hosts who had drawn 1-1 with Tatran Prešov in their most recent outing and suffered a heavy 0-12 defeat to Sandecja Nowy Sącz back in February. And here's the thing — this was not a contest from the start.
Košice took the lead in the fifth minute and never looked back. A second goal came in the thirtieth, followed by one just before the break at forty-five plus one. By then Radviliškis had already fallen behind two goals and were chasing shadows.
The visitors added two more after the interval, in the sixty-eighth and eighty-second minutes. The scoreline told the story, though the statistics did the rest. Košice registered eight shots on target to three, while Radviliškis managed only three on target from seven attempts off target.
Possession sat at fifty-six per cent for the away side, with sixty-two attacks against seventy-nine. Košice earned three corners while Radviliškis claimed six. The hosts offered nothing in attack and were out-thought on the touchline from the opening whistle.
Košice came into this match having beaten Skalica 4-2 on 15 August and drawn 3-3 with Trenčín on the first of the month. They had also played Žilina and lost heavily to Diósgyőri VTK earlier in July. The result extends a run of mixed fortunes but shows they can raise the tempo when they need to.
Radviliškis now face the reality of an early exit. They had one shot on target in each half and never got out of second gear. To be fair, the visitors were clinical — five goals from eight shots on target is not luck.
