Chamonix edge past Sierre in high-scoring friendly
Chamonix Mont-Blanc hosted Sierre for a club friendly on 18 August 2026. The hosts secured a 4:3 victory after a contest that offered little in the way of defensive solidity. And here's the thing, such scores rarely reflect a tactical masterclass.
The hosts have shown a tendency to trade goals in their recent outings. They lost 3:4 to Anglet on 7 April and followed that with a 3:4 defeat to Sergi-Pontoise three days later. Before that, they had won 2:1 against Gap. A win is a win, but the defence looked open.
To be fair, Sierre have been involved in plenty of end-to-end action lately as well. They fell 3:4 to Olten just four days ago on 14 August. Their previous run against La Chaux-de-Fonds saw them win 4:1 and 5:0 before a narrow 4:5 loss.
By then, the pattern was clear for both sides. They played a game that prioritised attack over structure, which explains the final tally. Neither keeper had much time to react.
The victory gives Chamonix something to build on before the season gets underway. Sierre will look to tighten up their back line in future fixtures. It was a test of fitness rather than a statement of intent. Goals are easy to find when everyone pushes forward.
