GOG secured a 34-31 win over Skanderborg on Friday in the Men's Handball League, extending their perfect start to the campaign. The result keeps the visitors top of the table with four points from two games, while Skanderborg remain sixth after picking up one win and one draw.
GOG have won both matches so far, with their most recent outing a 35-29 victory against Skjern on 25 August. Skanderborg's form has been mixed, including a 40-34 win over Ringsted last Saturday and a 28-31 defeat to Aalborg on 23 August.
The away side had previously played a tight 33-34 match against Füchse Berlin, so this was a chance to build momentum at home. Skanderborg have been involved in several high-scoring encounters recently, including losses to Skive and Aalborg in the opening weeks.
With the win, GOG moved clear at the summit while Skanderborg's position in the lower half of the table remained unchanged. The two sides met earlier in the season, with GOG winning 33-26 in Skanderborg on 23 May.
