KSM Rezita beat Ştefăneşti 2-0 in the third round of Liga II on Saturday afternoon. The hosts moved clear in second place while the visitors dropped further down the table after a match decided by two goals and nothing else.
M. Zavnik opened the scoring in the 20th minute and that was the moment the game shifted. To be fair, Rezita paid for a sloppy opening by staying compact, and the goal gave them a cushion they did not need to chase. Ştefăneşti chased the game and paid for it.
A yellow card came in the 22nd minute and another followed in the 35th as the visitors grew more desperate. The second booking showed frustration, and by then the hosts had already settled into a rhythm they intended to keep.
C. Barbut added the second goal in the 74th minute to put the result beyond doubt. Rezita changed the shape at half-time and saw it out, with Barbut finishing a routine move that felt inevitable rather than spectacular.
Rezita sit second with 15 points from six games, five wins and one defeat. Ştefăneşti are 17th with just six points from two wins and four losses, and this result extends a run that has not been kind to them.
