When money nearly finished KeuPa HT in 2013, it was the players themselves who went out and raised the funds to keep the club going rather than let it fold. That same season they won the Suomi-sarja for a second time and earned promotion to Mestis, so the club's closest brush with the end coincided with its clearest move upward.
The name itself is a leftover from an older institution: KeuPa HT split off from the multi-sport club Keuruun Pallo in 1995, kept the old three letters and stitched "HT" onto them so people would know this was the hockey side now standing alone. It has played its home games since at the Keuruu Ice Hall, holding 1,200.
Mestis is as high as the club has reached. In 2017–18 KeuPa HT won the division outright, beating TUTO Hockey in the final, and were back there themselves as runners-up the following spring. A Suomen Cup final followed in 2018, lost to Imatran Ketterä, and the trophy has stayed out of reach since.
Keuruu has sent players higher than the club itself has gone. Olli Palola moved on to Liiga and was named the Aarne Honkavaara Trophy winner in back-to-back seasons. KeuPa HT, for its part, has never followed him there — the step from Mestis to Finland's top flight remains the one honour missing from the list.
