Cinfães — AD Marco 09: 1:1, Friendlies Clubs

Sinfan and Marco 09 played out a 1-1 draw in a Club Friendly match on Friday evening. The result came just over a year after the sides met, with Marco 09 winning 1-0 on that occasion. And here's the thing — this time neither side could find a winner despite creating enough to settle it.

Sinfan took the lead early through a penalty in the eleventh minute. Marco 09 held their nerve and equalised through a goal in the sixty-fourth minute. The hosts had 43 per cent possession while the visitors controlled 57, which reflected in their higher attack count of 85 to 71.

To be fair, the statistics suggested Marco 09 should have taken something from the game. They won the battle in attacks and corners, getting four to two. But possession alone rarely tells you who deserved more.

Sinfan showed three yellow cards compared to Marco 09's two. The visitors have been building something of a run — two wins and a draw in their last three friendlies before this one. They lost to União Leiria on their most recent outing.

Sinfan's previous meeting with Marco 09 ended 1-0 the other way last August. Since then they've had mixed results against local opposition, including a 4-2 defeat to Oliveira do Hospital and a 3-2 win over Barreninse. By then this draw felt like a decent recovery for the hosts.
