Varaždin ran out 4-0 winners against Zagorje in the Cup Round of 32 on Wednesday evening. The visitors made it three unbeaten in five away games, and this one ended without drama. By then they had already put the game to bed early.

S. Lesjak opened the scoring in the thirteenth minute, catching Zagorje off guard. «And here's the thing», the hosts had been chasing the game since that moment. They won eight corners and threw 28 throw-Ins but could not find the net.

The second half brought nothing but more of the same. L. Mamić added a second in the 46th minute, and then S. Juric struck twice in the 49th and 53rd minutes. «To be fair», Varaždin had the deeper squad and felt the pressure less.

Statistics do not lie, though they sometimes mislead. Zagorje enjoyed 47 per cent possession and 133 attacks, but only managed six shots on target. Varaždin registered 13 shots on target and converted four.

The away side now extend their unbeaten run to five matches. Zagorje's recent form has been mixed — four wins and a draw in their last five — but this result ends that streak.
