Jan Žambůrek

Jan Žambůrek came through Bohemians 1905's academy before Slavia Prague picked him up, where he was part of the Under-17 side that won the domestic league and cup double in 2017-18. His move to Brentford in August 2018 put him on an English club's books at 17, and on 23 February 2019 he made his senior debut against Hull City, becoming the first player born in the 21st century to appear competitively for the club. That season he also won the Middlesex Senior Cup with Brentford B. In January 2020, he was runner-up for the Football Association of the Czech Republic's Young Player of the Year award, finishing behind Adam Hložek.

In January 2022, Žambůrek left Brentford for Danish club Viborg FF, and during that spell he had a further loan at Slovan Liberec for the 2023-24 season, taking him back to Czech football.

He returned to a competition he already knew in July 2024, joining Heracles Almelo in the Eredivisie. His first season at the club was interrupted by a knee injury, but he still made 24 appearances in 2024-25, before playing 29 matches the following season.

At youth international level, Žambůrek has moved steadily up the Czech ranks, from the Under-15s through to the Under-21s, and won the SportChain Cup with the Under-18 side in 2019. He has not yet featured for the senior national team.
