About the player
Jordan Yamoah Amissah's path to Dundee United ran through some of Germany's biggest academies. Born in Herne, he was picked up by Schalke 04 as a boy and later moved into Borussia Dortmund's youth system, where he won a German U-17 Bundesliga title. Sheffield United brought him to England, and he turned professional there in 2021, though senior chances at Bramall Lane were scarce — he made just one appearance for the club and was sent out on loan three times, to Guiseley, Spennymoor Town and Burton Albion.
The move that established him came in Scotland. Signing for Ross County in December 2024, Amissah quickly became first choice, making 20 league appearances in the Scottish Premiership, though the club were relegated during his time there. He subsequently moved to Burton Albion on a two-year deal, before a free transfer took him to Dundee United.
Internationally, Amissah has represented Ghana at U23 level, featuring at the 2023 U23 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, and has committed his future to the Black Stars, though a senior cap has yet to follow. At 198cm, he offers an imposing physical presence between the posts.
