Miras Omatay

Almaty-born and a product of the Kairat academy, Miras Omatay came up through the club's reserve side, Kairat-Zhas, in the Kazakhstan First League, playing there between 2021 and 2024 and scoring six goals in 35 appearances. He was registered with Kairat's main squad without ever making a league appearance for them, his only senior involvement coming in the Kazakhstan Cup in July 2021. He also featured for Kairat's under-19 side in the UEFA Youth League that season.

A loan to Zhetysu in February 2025 gave him his first taste of the Premier League, and he made his debut for the club in March that year, going on to start 11 of his 15 appearances without finding the net. He returned to Kairat at the end of the season.

In January 2026, Omatay moved on to Irtysh Pavlodar, a club then sitting in the relegation zone. He made 10 league appearances there without scoring, picking up two yellow cards, before leaving by mutual consent in July 2026 to join Yelimay Semey as a free agent. The move produced an immediate storyline: in August 2026, he scored against his former club Irtysh in a 3-1 win for Yelimay.

Omatay's international experience so far has been at youth level. He was capped once for Kazakhstan's under-17 side in 2021, then stepped up to the under-19s, debuting against Azerbaijan in June 2022 and featuring in qualifiers for the 2023 European Under-19 Championship against France, Scotland and Iceland. He has since earned two caps with the under-21 team in qualifying matches for the 2027 European Under-21 Championship.
