The side's best result came in 2016, when it reached the final of the Caribbean U-20 Championship and lost 4–0 to Haiti. That defeat still carried them into the 2017 CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Costa Rica, their first appearance at that level, where they finished bottom of their group after losses to Mexico, Guatemala and the hosts. Matthew Hall was among the squad that travelled to Costa Rica that year.

Qualification for the 2026 CONCACAF U-20 Championship came through a perfect record in the group stage, the team's sixth appearance in the competition's history. Once there, the pattern of 2017 repeated itself: defeats to Mexico, Guatemala and Costa Rica again sent them out at the bottom of the group, this time under captain Keyonte George and with Neil Jeffers overseeing preparations.

Several players who came through the U20 ranks have since made the senior team, among them Shahoi Dorsett and Conor Hadeed.
