Aywaille

The one national final Royal Aywaille FC has to show for itself came in 2009. Between those two brief appearances near the top of the pyramid, the club spent decades in provincial football without much to interrupt the routine.

What followed the 2009 promotion was mostly a fight to stay level with it. Aywaille reached the promotion playoffs again in 2012–13 and 2013–14 without going up.

The club carries blue and black without ever having settled on a nickname to go with them, and it has played since 1933 at the Stade de la Porallée.

In a province with no shortage of small-town clubs treading the same divisions, Aywaille's rivalries have stayed local rather than legendary: Stockay-Warfusée, RES Wanze-Bas-Oha, Etoile Elsautoise, Entente Sportive Donceel and R. Marchin Sport are the names that come up most often, sides it meets and re-meets in the shuffle between the fourth and fifth tiers of Liège football.
