Ebbsfleet United

An FA Trophy win came through Wembley in 2007-08, when Ebbsfleet United beat Torquay United 1-0 and became the first team from Kent to lift the competition.

The name Ebbsfleet United dates only from 2007. Before that the club had been known since its formation on 3 June 1946 as Gravesend & Northfleet, itself a merger of Gravesend United and Northfleet United. The change followed the opening of Ebbsfleet International railway station and the wider development of the area.

League titles have come in spells rather than in a steady run: the Southern League First Division in 1957-58, the Isthmian League Premier Division in 2001-02, and, more recently, National League South in 2022-23. Roy Hodgson turned out for the club early in his career, between 1969 and 1971.

Dartford provide the closest rivalry, the two sides meeting in what is known locally as the North Kent derby. Home games are played at a ground in Northfleet that trades under the sponsored name Kuflink Stadium, on the stretch of the Thames estuary that gave the club its nickname, the Fleet.
