The women's side at Issel won the Regionalliga Südwest in 2017/18 and then did not go up. Promotion to the 2. Bundesliga ran through play-offs, and the club declined to enter them, citing finances.
The Rheinlandpokal has been the other recurring story, and a frustrating one. Four finals reached, four lost. Bad Neuenahr took the 2013/14 tie 2:0; Andernach won the next two Isselreached, in 2015/16 and 2016/17, both by 1:2. The most recent came in 2023/24 against Holzbach, and the scoreline was 1:2 again. A club that has been in the last match of its regional cup four times has never held the trophy.
Home is the Sportplatz im Schulzentrum Schweich, an artificial pitch attached to the town's school complex.
