King's Lynn Town

King's Lynn Town needed a season without an ending to claim its biggest prize. The 2019–20 campaign was cut short by the pandemic, and the National League North title went to the club on points-per-game, sending them into the National League and, for the first time, to Step 1 of the pyramid.

Buster Chapman formed it in 2010, and it started out in the United Counties League Premier Division.

The season that followed the title brought the club's best FA Cup run. In the Second Round in 2020–21, King's Lynn Town went to Vale Park and beat League Two's Port Vale 1–0, before Portsmouth ended the run. Relegation back to the National League North came at the end of the following season, a reminder of how tight the margins are at Step 1.

Joe Taylor came through the club's academy before his move to Peterborough United, and later to Luton Town and Huddersfield Town. Norwich City and Ipswich Town have both sent young players to King's Lynn Town on loan, keeping the East Anglian pipeline running in both directions. Boston United provide the club's sharpest rivalry, the fixture pulling in supporters from both sides of the Norfolk and Lincolnshire border.

Matchdays still belong to The Walks, holding 8,200 with room for 1,200 in seats, where the Linnets play out in yellow and blue.
