Fränz Sinner grew up on the youth teams at Wormeldange before the game took him abroad, through Eintracht Trier and on to SC Wiener Viktoria in Austria, with a Luxembourg U21 cap somewhere along the way — from the youngest U5 side up through an U19 group added in 2022, and the Koeppchen Youth Cup it runs alongside them.

A tenth-place finish in the National Division in the 1991–92 season was the high point before relegation followed, and Koeppchen has not been back to the top flight since; it now plays in the Promotion d'Honneur. In the Coupe du Luxembourg, the club reached the semi-finals twice, in 1996 and 1998, without going further.

What sits underneath both the youth football and the modest league record is a club that once had to stop existing. Founded in 1919, it was forced to change its name to FK Wormeldingen in 1940 as German occupying authorities renamed the town itself, then banned outright and dissolved in 1941. Play only resumed under the name FC Koeppchen Wormeldange in 1944, once the occupation had ended.

Black and white remain the club's colours, worn now at Stade Am Ga in front of a ground that holds 1,000.
