Bishkek's football calendar runs mostly through the senior team, but the city also fields an under-23 side that carries the same red-and-white colours under the label Olympic team. It plays out of the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium, a 23,000-capacity ground in the capital, and trains at Sports City, the National Football Academy.

The side has spent most of its life outside the tournaments that would have made it visible. It went to the Asian Games four times running, in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018, and got no further than the Round of 16, reached in 2014. A named international fixture only came in March 2021, at the Three Nations Cup in Nepal, where Kyrgyz Republic U23 lost 0–1 to Bangladesh.

The breakthrough came this year. 2026 marked the team's first qualification for the AFC U23 Asian Cup finals, a tournament it had never reached before. It made the group stage and finished 15th.
