La Cure Waves

La Cure Waves go into this season as champions for the first time, having lifted the Mauritian National Super League title in 2025–26 and following it with a place in the CAF Champions League for 2026.

Founded in 1966, the Port Louis side spent most of that history away from the game's front pages, only earning promotion back to the top flight for the 2024–25 campaign. What followed was compressed into a single season: the league, the Republic Cup, and the MFA Cup, the last of them settled 10–9 on penalties against ASPL 2000 after a 1–1 draw.

The run has been built on recruitment rather than patience. Damien Balisson, who won 47 caps for Mauritius between 2015 and 2023, anchors a defence assembled through investment rather than years spent bringing players through, and no academy product has been credited with a role in the rise. Kevin Perticots finished the 2025–26 season as the club's top scorer, while Ivan Ami found the net in the Republic Cup final.

Matches against AS Port-Louis 2000 are known locally as the Derby de Port-Louis, a fixture sharpened now that both clubs sit in the Super League together. Home games are played in front of 2,500 at the St. François Xavier Stadium, a ground La Cure Waves also shares its name and locality with another, separately run Port Louis club founded decades later.
