Leningradets

Sergei Kiryakov was at Roschino from June 2021 to April 2024, and his last full season was the one that made the club's name: first place in the Second League, Group 2, in 2022/23 and promotion to the First League. Mikhail Markin scored 20 goals in that campaign, a return no forward at the club has matched before or since.

The club exists because another one stopped. When Tosno went bankrupt, Leningrad Region was left without a professional side, and a new legal entity was set up on 31 May 2018 on the governor's initiative — not a renaming, a new project built on the infrastructure that remained. Ladozhets, Volkhov and Neva were all considered as names before Leningradets was settled on.

Promotion cut both ways. The First League season of 2023/24 ended in relegation, Kiryakov left in April of that year, and four men held the job over the next two years. The white-and-blues came straight back up as champions of the Second League Division A, Gold group, in 2025/26.

Home is Roschino Arena in the village of Roschino, which after the reconstruction completed in 2024 holds 1,534 — a First League ground by division and a village ground by size.

The club's earliest silverware came in the North-West interregional tournament played for the presidential envoy's prizes, won in 2019 and again in 2020. The 2019 final was against Zvezda of St Petersburg and finished 2:0. Those two seasons set the terms of everything that followed in the region: Leningradets was assembled to be the professional club of the area around St Petersburg, and its opponents in that first competitive circuit were the city's smaller sides, playing for the same players and the same recruitment ground.
