Levanger FK

Levanger FK go into this campaign back in the 2. divisjon. Getting back up will not be easy, but the club has done this climb before, and recently: promotion out of the second tier in 2023 was what took them into the second flight in the first place.

The club formed on 20 May 1996, when two Levanger sides, SK Nessegutten and IL Sverre, merged into one. Nothing about the record since has been about silverware in the usual sense — there is no Eliteserien season and no cup run to a final — the club's history is written instead in promotions won and divisions climbed. The one deep run worth noting came in the Norwegian Cup in 2024, when Levanger reached the quarter-finals.

Jo Sondre Aas now holds the manager's job, with Per Verner Rønning working alongside him as assistant. Rønning's own name carries more weight at the club than the title suggests: he played for Rosenborg and Bodø/Glimt before returning to Levanger. Julian Faye Lund did something similar in the other direction, leaving to win the Norwegian Cup with Bodø/Glimt.

Matches against Nardo FK carry their own name in Trøndelag, known locally as the trønderderby. Levanger, in red and white since a merger three decades ago, still measure themselves against that one.
