Montpellier Women

Montpellier FC now carries a name barely a season old. The women's side spent 2025 attached to Montpellier HSC and left it that October, sold to Crux Football and set loose as an independent club. What survives the change is the pitch at Stade Jules Rimet in Sussargues, a ground that holds 500 and gives the club a home outside Montpellier itself while the men's side, still called Montpellier HSC, plays under its own separate site.

The club traces back to 1990, when Racing Club de Paillade merged with Entente Cressoise to form Montpellier-Le-Crès — the root of the nickname La Paillade, which has stuck through every change of ownership and colour since.

The trophy case belongs to an earlier era.

Players who wore the shirt in its stronger years read like a roll call of the national team of the period — Camille Abily, Louisa Nécib, Élodie Thomis all passed through. The Derby du Languedoc against Nîmes Olympique still gives the calendar its sharpest fixture, a rivalry that outlasted the club's own name.
