Shepshed Dynamo

Success at Shepshed came before the name did. As Shepshed Charterhouse under Maurice Clayton, the club took the Leicestershire Senior League three years running through 1980–81, then added the Midland League and the Northern Counties East League Premier Division in successive seasons, capping the run with the Northern Counties East Cup in 1983–84. Relegation followed, the club reverted to Shepshed Albion, and by 1994 it had collapsed financially.

What rose from that was Shepshed Dynamo, named to acknowledge the support given by neighbouring Loughborough Dynamo at the point of reformation. The new club found its own moment quickly, winning the Midland Football Alliance in 1995–96.

Reece Styche passed through in 2009–10, seven appearances and a single goal before moving on, while Exodus Geohaghon arrived at the other end of that career, joining in October 2024.

Games against Loughborough Dynamo are still known as the Dynamo derby. Home matches are played in black and white stripes, a straightforward colour scheme for a club that has changed its identity more than once.

The Dovecote has hosted football on the same Butthole Lane site since 1891, through Charterhouse and Albion and now Dynamo, and the ground still belongs to the Clayton family who once chaired the club under its previous name. It holds 2,500, with 500 seats, in a stadium that has outlasted every name the club has carried.
