Tadley Calleva

Whitchurch United and Thatcham Town give Tadley Calleva its sharpest afternoons. The name over the door has not always matched the badge on the shirt: the club started out in 1989 as plain Tadley F.C., became Tadley Town a decade later, and only in 2004 took the identity it carries now, borrowing "Calleva" from Calleva Atrebatum, the Roman town that once stood nearby. The nickname, The Romans, follows from the same source.

The club won the Wessex League Division One title outright in 2007–08, but discovered the ground itself would not let them go up — Barlows Park fell short of the standard promotion required. A cup did go into the cabinet six years later: the Basingstoke Senior Cup in 2013–14, won 3–2 after extra time against AFC Aldermaston.

Brett Denham's name sits above the club's goalscoring charts with more than 250 to his name, a tally built over a career rather than a single run of form.
