Taunton Town

The record books at Wordsworth Drive show a run that few clubs of Taunton's size manage twice: six Western League titles between 1969 and 2001. The most recent honour of real weight came later still, when Taunton Town won the Southern League Premier Division South in 2021–22. In between sits a single FA Vase, lifted in 2001 with a 2–1 win over Berkhamsted Town.

Founded in December 1947 as Taunton F.C. before the current name settled, the club has since built its identity around Wordsworth Drive, now known as the Cygnet Health Care Stadium under a sponsorship struck in 2024. It holds 3,000, with 422 of those seated.

In 2016–17 Taunton reached the FA Cup First Round Proper for the first time, drawing Barrow 2–2 before losing the replay 2–1. They got there again in 2022–23, beating local rival Yeovil Town to earn a tie against MK Dons. Yeovil sits alongside Weston-super-Mare as the club's sharpest local rivalry, the Weston fixture known simply as the Somerset Derby.
