Zagłębie Lubin U19

Copper paid for this. The seams found near Lubin in the late 1950s brought KGHM to the town, and the mining company has been attached to the football club since 1957 — it now owns Zagłębie Lubin S.A. outright. The senior side goes back to 1945, when it started life as OMTUR Lubin, but the money that built the junior set-up is much newer.

The under-19s train at the Akademia Piłkarska KGHM Zagłębie , opened in 2015 on the edge of town: four full-size pitches with stands around them, dormitories, a canteen, a gym and a recovery area.

The team's best years came before that building existed. Zagłębie won the Młoda Ekstraklasa in 2009–10 and again in 2010–11, having already taken the Polish under-19 title in 2009 and 2010. The Młoda Ekstraklasa was wound up in 2013, when the Polish Football Association replaced it with the Centralna Liga Juniorów , the top tier of youth football in the country. Zagłębie have played in it since.
