The 19 Eylül Stadyumu in Ordu sits between the city’s past and its future. The original venue, which opened in 1967, has been demolished to make way for a public park. The current stadium, sharing the same name, stands nearby in the Durugöl neighbourhood.

That structure is now gone. What remains is the newer facility, which opened in October 2021 after the old ground was closed and subsequently torn down. The original stadium served as the home for Orduspor for decades, including during their time in the Süper Lig, but was eventually replaced to accommodate urban development plans for the city.

The stadium holds 16,768 spectators, a capacity that reflects its role as a local club ground rather than a regional hub. The surface is natural grass, maintained for the team’s needs without artificial heating.

Orduspor used to play at the old stadium, which hosted a famous UEFA Cup match against FC Baník Ostrava in 1979. The new stadium carries the legacy of the old one, even though the physical structure is entirely different.
