Qarabağ FK have made it their home ground since, though not for every occasion that matters. League fixtures come to Amirjan; when Qarabağ reach a European group stage, the club moves the occasion across town, to the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium or the Baku Olympic Stadium. What is left here is domestic cup football — quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Azerbaijan Cup, Qarabağ's 2022 meeting with Gabala among them — and gates that rarely stretch past a few thousand.

The ground did have one turn on a bigger stage of its own: in May 2016 it staged group matches at the European Under-17 Championship, England's 1-2 defeat to Sweden among them. Outside football, the arena also hosts concerts and public shows.
