Cairo Military Academy Stadium

The stadium sits in the Heliopolis district of Cairo, where Orouba Street runs past a complex built for the Egyptian military.
It was built in 1989 and has served as the home of Tala'ea El Gaish, the military club, though the ground also opened its doors to Al Ahly and Zamalek when their own stadiums were closed for renovation. The capacity stands at 28,500, though the number is not settled and some sources put it lower; plans to expand the arena to 65,000 were proposed in 2009 but never materialised. The playing surface is natural grass, and the facility was upgraded in 2005 for the Africa Cup of Nations.
During the 2006 tournament the stadium hosted six matches, including the Third Place match where Nigeria defeated Senegal 1–0.
