The Campo do Adelino Rodrigues This place has always been about temporary arrangements. It first opened its doors to the public in 1953, acting as a stopgap while the Estádio dos Barreiros was being rebuilt. During that time, the two giants of Madeira, C.S. Marítimo and C.D. Nacional, both played their fixtures here. The surface was originally earth and clay until a synthetic turf was installed in 2003, a change that has since been refreshed with a third-generation surface in 2019.
The stadium has seen its share of changing tenants. It served as the home for C.F. União da Madeira between 2008 and 2011, and again from 2019 to 2021, when the club was relegated from the second tier and could not meet the criteria for the main stadium. At present, it is the home ground for União da Bola F.C., a phoenix club founded in 2022, and for CS Marítimo Feminino.
