Carlo Wolf Arena

The Carlo Wolf Arena is not the ice rink that draws visitors to Merano. That is the Meranarena, a separate building with a different capacity and a different sport. This is an indoor hall with a wooden parquet floor, the sort of natural surface that gives handball its particular sound. It sits at Via Carlo Wolf 36, part of the Centro Scolastico 'Carlo Wolf', the school centre it shares its name with. The facility has stood since 1984.

The Sport Club Meran Handball, competing in Italy's Serie A1 and known locally as the Black Devils, call this place home. It is also the home of the Cineclub Merano, which adds a community function beyond the courts.

The hall's character comes from its function and its location within the school complex, not from any theatrical renovation.
