The Centro Esportivo da Juventude sits in the Guamá neighbourhood of Belém. It is not a place where the big crowds gather for weekend fixtures; Remo and Paysandu still head to their traditional homes for those. Instead, this is a complex built for work. Inaugurated in 2014 as part of a FIFA Social Legacy Project, the site covers nearly fifty thousand square metres.

What strikes you first is the surface. Three of the four official fields are laid with synthetic turf, a green uniformity that contrasts with the natural grass pitch used for specific training sessions. The facility was designed to host youth categories and women's football, providing a stable base for the Federação Paraense de Futebol (FPF) rather than serving as a spectacle venue. The stands are modest, with capacity figures hovering around five hundred or a thousand depending on the source, but the layout suggests a focus on the players rather than the spectators.

The atmosphere here is far removed from the noise of the city centre. You might see a player jogging between the lines or a coach shouting instructions from the touchline. The complex is surrounded by a perimeter fence, and beyond that, the sound of the city bleeds in. It is a working ground, one of the few in the region offering four full-sized pitches in one location.

The legacy of the 2014 tournament is visible in the infrastructure, though the original funding figures are difficult to pin down with certainty. Reports from a few years back mentioned incomplete works and security concerns, but the fields remain in use. Now, there are whispers of plans for a new training centre to prepare for the 2027 Women's World Cup, but for now, the four pitches remain the heart of the operation. It is a place where talent is developed in the quiet hours, far from the glare of the floodlights.
