Christián László Városi Sporttelep

The Christián László Városi Sporttelep in Gyula has lived long enough to watch its own name change. Built in the 1920s, the complex covers a sprawling 13 hectares.

The main pitch is the heart of this multi-sport site. Natural grass covers the surface, and there are no floodlights to push play into the night; the sun must last. The stands hold 2,700 spectators. The field itself is known as the Himer Center Pitch. A renovation in 2023 saw the turf replaced, a fresh layer of green over decades of history.

Speedway is not an afterthought here. A motorcycle track runs alongside the football ground.

His presence is marked by a plaque unveiled in 2006, a reminder of the man who helped shape the facility.

A separate artificial turf pitch, the Vasvári Péter Football Pitch, was completed in late 2023.
