Estádio Municipal José Marino Bandeira de Matos sits in the Jardim Oriente neighbourhood of Altamira, though locals and the press tend to call it Estádio Bandeirão. The municipality owns the site, and the most tangible sign of that ownership is the work completed last July. The city pulled together its own funds and put them into a total revitalization of the place.

The project did not stop at the football field. The administration added a 400-metre athletics track around the perimeter. The capacity remains modest at around 2,000 spectators, but it is enough for the community.

The only other detail that stands out from the renovation is the lack of a publicised price tag. There is no official attendance record to point to either, and the sources do not distinguish between natural or artificial grass, though the grass surface itself was one of the things they set out to fix.
