Estadio Escribano Castilla

The Estadio Municipal Escribano Castilla sits on the edge of Motril, tucked beside the Municipal Cemetery and the Río Dauro. The location gives the ground a specific character. The stadium was built to replace the old Campo del Majuelo, opening in 1969 with a match against Granada CF.

Its most significant transformation came in the late nineties. Following a renovation intended to meet the standards for promotion to Segunda División B, the open terraces were replaced with a single-deck stand featuring a cantilevered roof. The re-inauguration in 1997 saw an honourary kick-off by Alfredo Di Stéfano. The facility currently serves as the home for CF Motril in the Tercera Federación.

There is a persistent discrepancy regarding the size of the crowd the ground can hold. While some records list the capacity at 5,400, other sources settle on 4,400.

Unlike many modern venues, it has never been named after a sponsor, retaining its municipal title since it opened.
