Estadio Multiusos de San Lázaro

The roof is the most striking feature: a continuous ring of terracotta tiles that gives the structure a warmth unusual for a building of this scale.

What separates this from the standard Spanish football venue is the track. The surface inside the track is natural grass, cut short and green.

Estadio Municipal Verónica Boquete de San Lázaro was not built in silence. The first goal scored here was a familiar one: Bebeto of Deportivo de La Coruña.

There is a discrepancy in the numbers, as there often is with older venues that have changed their seating arrangements. The club lists the capacity at 12,000, a figure that reflects the modern requirement for all-seater stands. Other sources point to a higher number, closer to 16,000, a memory of the standing terraces that once packed the space.

The stadium has not changed much in its structure. It has hosted SD Compostela since the beginning, and briefly SD Ciudad de Santiago.
