SD Leioa have called this place home since the late 1980s, when the municipal authorities built it to replace the makeshift pitches on the university campus where the club had played for years. The structure itself has not changed shape in any dramatic fashion. The original pavilion was replaced by a two-tiered clubhouse in 2010, a renovation that coincided with the installation of the floodlights that now illuminate the field for evening fixtures.

The capacity is a matter of debate. The site has no history of major events. That result did not change the way the ground functions. It remains a modest municipal complex in Leioa, where the players run past the same brick walls and the same blue roof every weekend.
