Estádio Zezão

It is big enough for the local teams, Cruzeiro de Itaporanga and Mil Réis Futebol Clube, to play out their seasons without the pressure of a major city.

The stadium opened in 1993. Renovations were completed in 2016. The capacity is officially listed as 3,000. On the rare occasions when amateur finals are played here, the stands are full and the rooftops around the perimeter fill with people, pushing the total crowd closer to 7,000.

There is no professional attendance record to point to. The largest audience gathered for a concert by the duo Iguinho e Lulinha, not a football match. The official name, José Barros Sobrinho, honours a local figure whose identity is tied to the community rather than the sport.
