The Hamburg Pioneers have used this ground since 1988, when the club was founded as part of SV Polizei Hamburg. They adopted the site at a time when the facility already stood, though the original opening year and builder of the place are unknown.

The most recent fixture recorded was the Ladies Bowl 2023 on October 21, 2023, played between the Hamburg Amazons and the Stuttgart Scorpions Sisters. The event distinguished this ground from the Volksparkstadion, which is the home of the soccer club Hamburger SV.
